We are pleased to announce that our PhD student Johanna P. Müller from the IDEA Lab received a Best Poster Award at the Bavarian Conference on AI in Medicine, held on 27–28 October 2025 in Munich.
Her poster, “Diffusing the Blind Spot: Uterine MRI Synthesis with Diffusion Models,” was selected by conference participants as one of the three highest-rated posters, all receiving the same number of votes. Johanna’s research focuses on generating synthetic uterine MRI data using state-of-the-art diffusion models. This work represents an important step toward improving diagnostic support, enhancing research reproducibility, and increasing access to high-quality imaging data in women’s health. The award highlights both the scientific rigor of the project and its potential to contribute to better clinical care.
We gratefully acknowledge our collaborators from the Smart Imaging Lab at University Hospital Erlangen, especially Anika Knupfer and Prof. Jana Hutter.
The Bavarian Conference on AI in Medicine brought together leading experts from academia, healthcare, and industry to explore how artificial intelligence can meaningfully advance medical practice. The program included keynote lectures by internationally recognised researchers such as Eric Topol, Mihaela van der Schaar, Fabian Theis, and Islem Rekik.
We are very proud of Johanna’s achievement and look forward to the next developments in this promising line of research. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.
